Bacchus Restaurant X Witches Falls Winery – May 9

 

It’s THE must-attend Wine Dinner of 2024: the culinary collaboration between the acclaimed Bacchus Restaurant in Brisbane, and the multi-award winning Witches Falls Winery in the famed Scenic Rim, home of world class flavours and producers. On May 9 Bacchus will host this much-anticipated pairing, starring Witches Falls Wine Maker Hannah Hughes and Ambassador Kathryn Sowter with a Queensland inspired menu by Chef de Cuisine Manuele Erriu, the restaurant’s Italian born menu maestro.

At home on Tamborine Mountain, Witches Falls is Queensland's finest winery. Their winemaking practices combine the best of the old and the new with traditional techniques combined with some of the most modern and advanced practices to produce wines of exceptional quality, character and consistency. 

 

Here’s a sneak peek of the menu …

 

  • Bacchus Canapes will be served with a selection of Piano Rock Vermouth (Bianco, Rosso, Rosato), Boxer Brewing Co. Lazy Ale and Boxer Brewing Co. IPA.
  • Queensland coast line-caught fish (ceviche, kohlrabi) will be paired with 2023 Witches Falls Old Vine Riesling.
  • Moreton Bay bugs with Witches Falls Chardonnay sauce and potato served with the 2022 Witches Falls Wild Ferment Chardonnay.
  • Toowoomba Duck breast, baby heirloom carrots and star anise with the 2022 Witches Falls Wild Ferment Grenache.
  • Darling Downs Lamb Rump with cauliflower, rapini, hazelnut and coffee jus with the 2019 Witches Falls Prophecy Syrah.
  • Cheeses including a Jambreen Triple Cream Brie and Pure Blue with the 2004 Witches Falls Classic Solera Muscat for dessert.
  • And to finish, a Dulce de leche dessert, with Toowoomba macadamias and Noosa chocolate.

 

The Wine Dinner will take place just three weeks before the Scenic Rim Eat Local Month (all of June) where Witches Falls will host a range fo events celebrating local flavours and produce.

Thursday May 9 at 6pm for canapes in the Bacchus Bar, with the dinner commencing at 6.30pm.
