Media Opportunity:

Live Interview of Australian national headquarters Imam, High Commissioners, foreign Ambassadors, ACT Legislative Assembly members, faith and community group leaders, local Ahmadi Muslims and guests.

Amid recent cancellations of Ramadan Iftar dinners in New South Wales and Victoria, this Ramadan, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ACT extends an open invitation to all political leaders, religious figures from diverse backgrounds and members of the public to join their Annual Interfaith Iftar Dinner, emphasising the importance of dialogue, mutual respect and tolerance. Close to 250 guests have confirmed their attendance with requests exceeding the number of seats available. Various diplomats, dignitaries, politicians and religious leaders have confirmed their attendance along with multiple not-for-profit organisations and State Emergency Services.

The initiative aims to bring people from all walks of life together, transcending religious and political differences, in a display of solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.

"In times of difficulty, nurturing transparent communication is essential to construct bridges and uplift disadvantaged societies across the globe,” says Ahmadiyya National President and Grand Imam I. H. Kauser, who will be attending the ACT Iftar Dinner.

“Now is the time to unite individuals, societies, and nations under a shared platform, promoting peace, mutual respect, and global harmony. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has always played a key role in bringing together people from all walks of life and this Iftar dinner is another step in that direction."

Imam and President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ACT, Ahmed Nadeem emphasised this theme. He said: "In the current global climate, it is more important than ever for everyone to come together and focus on our shared values. Building bridges requires dialogue and understanding and this Iftar dinner serves as a meaningful step towards that."

The event welcomes individuals with diverse perspectives to sit together, discuss and learn from one another. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ACT aims to nurture these connections, fostering a more inclusive and understanding society. This year’s Ahmadiyya Iftar Dinner is expected to attract more than 200 people representing various walks of life.

Family First to Fight for Repeal of Dangerous ‘Equality’ Bill

Family First has pledged to repeal the dangerous Equality Legislation Amendment (LGBTIQA+) Bill if its candidates are elected to the NSW Parliament in 2027. The bill put forward by Alex Greenwich, which passed the lower house of the NSW Parliament today, threatens the safety and rights of women, girls, and children by removing key safeguards in the name of so-called equality. Lyle Shelton, National Director of Family First, expressed deep concern about the implications of the bill, particularly its allowance biological men to identify as women by changing their sex on their birth certificates at a whim. “This exposes girls…

Family First Party will Draft New Law to Protect Faith-Based Organisations from Hostile Government Takeovers

The Family First Party has announced that if elected to the cross bench it will immediately pursue new legislation designed to prevent hostile public takeovers of faith-based organisations, following recent national concerns over such actions – particularly the Labor Green Government takeover of Calvary Hospital. The draft law will aim to protect the autonomy and values of religious institutions that serve communities through education, healthcare, and charity. The acquisition of Calvary raised alarm among religious and civil society groups, who fear that similar actions could undermine the missions of faith-based organisations, forcing them to compromise on their core beliefs and…

New polling shows supermarkets are public enemy No. 1 in the cost-of-living crisis

New polling shows supermarkets are Australians' public enemy No. 1 in the cost-of-living crisis. The Australia Institute’s Carmichael Centre/Centre for Future Work surveyed 1014 voters about increasing costs. Some 83% said supermarkets deserve some blame, or a great deal of blame, for the soaring cost of living. That puts them ahead of energy companies (82%), banks (73%) and government (71%). Three in five (60%) respondents nominated groceries as the most noticed cost increase, far ahead of the next highest result of utilities at 21%. There is a strong appetite among voters to increase supermarket competition, with almost two-thirds (64%) saying…
