This cutting-edge facility underscores the company's commitment to leading the charge in the burgeoning battery materials industry.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held today, was attended by esteemed Federal and State government officials, economic development officers, and industry leaders. The Arizona Commerce Authority partnered with Arizona Lithium for this landmark event, highlighting the strategic importance of the LRC in advancing clean energy technologies.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Strategic Location

Located strategically 15km southeast of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the LRC spans over 9,700 square meters, featuring a 1,900 square meter building dedicated to research and development, and a 3,000 square meter secure lot for prototype processing equipment fabrication. The facility is equipped with a 370 square meter research laboratory and a 1,530 square meter processing facility designed for the production of lithium chemicals, which will serve as a testing ground for lithium extraction from Arizona Lithium’s Big Sandy and Prairie projects.

Comments from Arizona Lithium and Partners

AZL Managing Director, Paul Lloyd, commented: “We are very excited to be officially opening the Lithium Research Centre (LRC). The facility has been operational for a period of time and has hosted government and industry leaders, who have all been very impressed with the personnel and operations at the LRC. We have been overwhelmed with the support of the Arizona government and our partner for the event, the ACA. We strongly believe the LRC is critical to the company in order to test and optimize our Lithium processing technologies and ultimately produce Lithium from both of our major projects, Prairie and Big Sandy, in the most economic and sustainable manner. I urge anyone interested in attending this event to contact myself or a company representative.”

Official Partner the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) President and CEO, Sandra Watson, commented: “Arizona Lithium marks yet another international company investing in Arizona, showcasing the state’s global attractiveness. The Tempe facility strengthens Arizona’s mining and materials industry and highlights our leadership in clean energy technologies, such as batteries.”.

Greater Phoenix Economic Council President and CEO, Chris Camacho, commented: “Arizona Lithium enters Tempe at a time in which Greater Phoenix is surging as a national hub for battery activity. The company’s research, test work and processing capabilities are going to play a key role in elevating the ecosystem around Arizona.”

Invitation to the Public

In line with its community engagement and transparency objectives, Arizona Lithium invites interested parties and stakeholders to visit the new facility to learn more about its innovative processes and the potential impacts on the battery materials industry.
