The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) is preparing to host its much-anticipated 8th annual Highly Accomplished and Lead teacher (HALT) Summit on 9 and 10 May in Sydney.
This year’s HALT Summit is bigger than ever, bringing together esteemed educators and education representatives from all over Australia. The HALT Summit is a standout event in the education calendar, providing a dynamic platform for networking, learning, and celebration within the teaching profession.
This year's Summit, themed ‘Innovate. Elevate. Celebrate.’, emphasises the importance of expertise in education. The theme highlights AITSL's dedication to nurturing a culture of creativity, embracing innovative pedagogies, and amplifying the influence of Highly Accomplished and Lead teachers.
"As we embark on the 2024 HALT Summit, we are delighted to provide a forum that celebrates the achievements of HALTs, promotes the benefits of certification, and supports the continued growth of national teacher certification," said AITSL’s Acting CEO Edmund Misson.
"This event not only recognises excellence in teaching but also serves as a driver for professional growth, leadership development, and collaborative learning."
With over 450 attendees registered to participate, the Summit promises to be a vibrant and rewarding experience for educators nationwide.

Those attending the 2-day event will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops and HALT-run Sharespace presentations, and a Ngumpie Weaving circle.
