CIMIC Group 2 mins read

CIMIC Group company Leighton Asia has been selected by a multinational technology corporation to fit out a data centre in Hyderabad, India.

This project adds to several data centres that Leighton Asia is delivering or has completed in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and the region. It will be delivered in joint venture with Sterling and Wilson.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said: “We have a growing data centre portfolio across Asia, as we capture the strong opportunities in this sector. Growing use of artificial intelligence, the need for faster processing, remote work and learning, and other market demands will continue to drive market growth in advanced technology.”

Leighton Asia Managing Director Brad Davey said: “Winning this data centre project in India is an indicator of our competitive capabilities in engineering and digital innovation, and our ability to provide innovative and sustainable solutions to clients in this sector.”

This project has an Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold target.

Work includes fitting out the data centre with civil, structural, architectural works including hot aisle containment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection services and security systems as well as the internal architectural finishes, installation, construction, assembly, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and BIM design development.

Construction work will commence in June 2024 and will be completed in Q4 2025.
