COLES LAUNCHES BIRTHDAY SALE

TO CELEBRATE 25 YEARS OF ONLINE SHOPPING

  • Celebrate with FREE birthday cake on online orders of $50 or more
  • 100’s of online only specials, Flybuys bonus points offers and discounted Coles Plus memberships

Coles online is kicking off its 25th birthday celebrations, this week launching an online birthday sale and giving away 150,000 of its iconic mud cakes to say thank you to the Australians who shop with Coles online.1

Get ready to order your cake and eat it too. Until Tuesday 18 June customers who enter the promo code “CAKE” at the checkout can redeem a Coles Bakery Mud Cake 600g as part of their $50 or more online order. Shoppers will need to be quick as the cakes are available while stocks last.

The ultimate party guest, Coles Bakery’s deliciously rich moist chocolate mud cake has risen to fame with Aussies creating their own sweet creations and sharing fun hacks to elevate the humble cake. Topped with smooth choc icing and a white choc drizzle, Coles’ mud cake is perfect for an afternoon snack or eaten straight from the box – there are no rules to how customers can celebrate.

Shoppers can also take advantage of a discounted Coles Plus membership2, supercharge their bonus Flybuys points3,4, indulge in savings on their favourite drinks6 and save on the Coles Finest range5 until Tuesday 18 June.

The party will continue on Wednesday 5 June with Coles online launching hundreds of half-price specials across a range of family favourites and big-name brands like Nivea, Tresemme, Cadbury and Vittoria Coffee all available until Tuesday 11 June.

Coles online launched in 1999, not long after dial-up internet connections became widely available to Australian homes and almost a decade before the first smartphones hit the market.

Since then, Coles online has made millions of Australians lives easier by introducing new advancements, offering Click&Collect and home delivery to help make shopping faster and more convenient and now has over 872 Coles online vans delivering groceries across the country.

Reflecting on 25 years of innovation, Coles General Manager Online Network and Growth, James Geddes said he was proud of Coles online’s growth and was looking forward to celebrating with customers.

“Coles online has evolved to meet the changing needs of our customers, with the launch of the Coles App, shoppable lists and recipes and the introduction of the Coles Plus membership to reward customers for their loyalty,” James said.

“As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we want to show our appreciation and say thanks to customers, and we’re delighted to be giving back to Aussies with discounts and offers – and free birthday cake to celebrate.

”For a quarter of a century, Coles online has been committed to making grocery shopping more convenient for millions of Australians.

“In 1999, less than five per cent of Aussie adults had made an online purchase and we delivered to just 23 postcodes in Melbourne. Fast forward 25 years and today Coles online delivers to 96 per cent of Australian households."

Coles Group’s last sales results in April revealed that eCommerce revenue increased by more than 34% which shows that Aussies are relying on digital platforms more than ever to help them shop. 7

The top selling products for Coles online shoppers over the past 25 years have been bananas, chicken breast and strawberries. This year customers have purchased enough milk each year to fill 12 Olympic swimming pools, more frozen fruit than a Boeing-747 can carry and enough Coles Simply Garlic Bread for every person in Canberra to enjoy one each.

British Veterinary Association Ends Opposition to Vegan Diets for Dogs

SOUTHAMPTON, ENGLAND / ACCESSWIRE / July 25, 2024 / The British Veterinary Association (BVA) has ended its opposition to (nutritionally-sound) vegan diets for dogs. Until recently, its opposition was regularly reported. However, the BVA also has a corporate partnership with Mars Petcare, which makes large sums from selling meat-based pet foods. Stated Andrew Knight, veterinary Professor of Animal Welfare: "The Mars-BVA partnership represents a significant conflict of interest. Veterinary associations have a responsibility to ensure their positions are evidence-based, up-to-date and not influenced by conflicts of interest." Following such critique, in 2023 the BVA ceased its public statements opposing vegan…
