Sydney, AUSTRALIA 26 June 2024 – Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC)

Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of a heritage clearance at its high-priority Maggie Hays Hill (“MHH”) Project in the Lake Johnston Greenstone Belt, Western Australia. This marks a significant step forward in IEC's exploration strategy, facilitating the commencement of a 2,000m Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling campaign in July 2024.

Highlights:

  • Heritage survey completed at the Maggie Hays Hill Project (WA)

  • 2,000m RC drilling campaign to commence in July 2024

  • Survey focused on the southern pegmatite lithium target, hosting a notable soil and outcrop anomaly similar to the recently discovered Burmeister Lithium Prospect (ASX:TD6)

IEC’s Managing Director, Ben Dunn, expressed his gratitude, stating:  would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation and the Ngadju People for accommodating this survey within their busy schedule”. “Pending the final report, this survey has the potential to enable the Company to start drilling at the project in a few weeks’ time. Early success from the program would allow us to keep drilling uninterrupted for next 6-12 months”

Maggie Hays Hill Project Background

The Maggie Hays Hill (MHH) Project, located in WA’s Lake Johnston Greenstone Belt, is an 80% owned joint venture by IEC. The project covers 49 km² and targets lithium (spodumene), tantalum, niobium, and Archean lode gold mineralization. The project area includes a 2.5-kilometre-long Southern pegmatite lithium target and the central and northern gold targets.

The completed heritage survey focused on the southern pegmatite lithium target—a notable soil and outcrop anomaly akin to the recent Burmeister spodumene discovery. The geological setting features NNW trending extensively faulted mafic and ultramafic rocks bounded by younger granitic rocks, making it highly prospective for lithium, nickel, and gold.

The project is strategically located 25 kilometres north of recent spodumene lithium discoveries at Burmeister Hill (TG Metals) and Lake Medcalf (Charger Metals). Additionally, there are lithium mica (lepidolite) pegmatites at Mt Day, 10 kilometres north of the MHH project. Recent regional developments include Rio Tinto farming into the Charger Metals tenements, highlighting the growing interest and potential in the area.

IEC has planned the 2,000m RC drilling program, agreed terms with a drilling contractor, and is finalizing the drilling contract. Operations are expected to commence promptly following the receipt of the final survey report.

New study shows AI can forecast mining disasters

Artificial Intelligence can forecast gas-related incidents in coal mines within half an hour, according to a new study exploring how the technology can reduce the risk of disasters. The study of coal mines in China compared 10 machine learning algorithms to see which AI method could make predictions about changes in methane gas levels 30 minutes in advance, and notify users of anomalies. Gas explosions or ignitions in underground mines pose significant risks, with almost 60 per cent of coal mine accidents in China caused by methane gas. China accounted for 46 per cent of the world’s coal production in…
