MPs from across the political divide will address the launch of ACOSS’s blueprint for fair, fast and inclusive action on climate change at federal parliament.
Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy Jenny McAllister, independent MP for Warringah Zali Stegall, Liberal MP for Bass Bridget Archer, Greens leader Adam Bandt and ACOSS CEO Cassandra Goldie will speak at Committee Room 2R1 from 7.45am on Wednesday, June 26.

What: Launch of ACOSS’ Blueprint Framework for Fair, Fast, and Inclusive Climate Change Action
It will lay out what is required to ensure the response to climate change impacts and a transition to a clean economy is fair, fast and inclusive. ACOSS CEO Cassandra Goldie will tell the event:
"Those who can’t cool their home when the mercury hits 40C are hospitalised with heat stress. Those who can’t install solar panels to lower their energy costs are forced to go without food and medicine to pay their gas and electricity bills.
"We can’t keep prioritising investment in profitable big industries ahead of people who are doing it tough and struggling to afford housing, energy, transport, medicine and put food on the table. And we certainly won’t build social licence to accelerate action without people directly benefiting sooner."
