SOUTHERN STARS IS MAGNIFICA IN 2024

 

The official launch of Southern Stars 2024 - Magnifica - will take place from 10am next Monday 24 June at the BlueScope Visitors Centre, with featured singers, dancers and musicians providing a glimpse of this year’s amazing show and world-class talent.

 

Executive Producer, Paul Roger (Principal Corrimal High School) will officially open ticket sales, provide an outline of the Magnifica theme and highlight some of the moments that are sure to entertain and astound audiences when the show hits the floor at the WIN Entertainment Centre on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 August.

 

At the launch, students from the Southern Stars Performing Company will showcase some of the popular items from the Magnifica show, including Gold, September, and Coming Home.

 

Southern Stars is the biggest performing arts event in Southern NSW for public school students and features exceptional performances in drama, dance, vocals, music, orchestra, circus and much more.

 

Now in its 23rd year, Southern Stars 2024 will feature over 3000 performers from 125 schools* across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, South Coast, Sydney, Wollondilly, Southern Highlands, Macarthur, and around the state.

 

Southern Stars is sponsored by NSW Teachers Federation, BlueScope/WIN Community Partners, South32, Wollongong City Council, WIN TV, i98fm, Illawarra Mercury, The Arts Unit and MSP Photography.

James Cook University staff and their Union have condemned proposed new job cuts announced today. The National Tertiary Education Union has called for a federal parliamentary inquiry into university governance after the University of Canberra announced 200 job losses.
