Phillips Coaching Appoints Simon Lloyd as Inaugural CEO

Phillips Coaching is excited to announce the appointment of Simon Lloyd as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer. This landmark appointment signifies a pivotal step in Phillips Coaching's dedication to fostering athletic excellence and delivering leading sports coaching services.

 

Simon is an accomplished executive with over 25 years’ experience in elite sport, having worked in the key functions of coaching, high performance, development, recruitment, psychology and commercial growth.

Simon has enjoyed a long and successful career within the broader AFL landscape having worked at four clubs – Hawthorn, Collingwood, Fremantle and Geelong. He has also worked as a psychologist with Olympic and professional athletes across many sports. 

 

In recent times, Simon has held significant positions at the Geelong Football Club including Director of Coaching, General Manager - Football and General Manager - Commercial Projects.  As General Manager - Football, Simon led a highly successful program that culminated in the AFL Premiership in 2022. Simon also led a culture of transformation, expanding the football program to include the inaugural AFLW team in 2019. 

 

Over his career, Simon has led large multi-disciplinary teams, and he has an intimate understanding of optimising performance and organisational growth. His extensive experience in psychology, cultural development and leadership has been instrumental in driving cultural change and achieving success.
