Promises, Promises is based on the 1960 film The Apartment starring Shirley MacLaine and Jack Lemon. With music by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David and a book by Neil Simon.
"I’m excited to breathe life into a show that brought a contemporary story and sound to Broadway in the late 60s," said director Dean Drieberg. "The sharp wit of Neil Simon’s text paired with the timeless Burt Bacharach and Hal David songs are compelling material to work with."
Promises, Promises follows a young junior executive at an insurance company who seeks to climb the corporate ladder by allowing his apartment to be used by his married superiors for trysts. With all the songs you love, including; Say A Little Prayer, A House Is Not A Home, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again and Promises, Promises.
Neglected Musicals presents a chosen musical in full with scripts in hand, accompanied by a piano after only one day’s rehearsal.
