Melbourne, Australia - 15 July 2024 | Amaero International Limited (ASX:3DA) (“Amaero” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that former National Security Advisor to the United States, Lieutenant General (ret.) H.R. McMaster has joined as Special Advisor to the Chairman and CEO, Hank Holland.

  • Mr. McMaster’s career has included 34 years as a commissioned officer in the US Army, as well as Senior Fellow roles in public policy and academic institutions.

In his role, McMaster will advise Holland on strategic and commercial matters, as well as engage on behalf of Amaero with key stakeholders including the U.S. government, Department of Defense, DoD-funded research and development laboratories and defense prime contractors.

Upon graduating from the US Military Academy in 1984, McMaster served as a commissioned officer for 34 years. He retired as a lieutenant general in June 2018 after serving as the 25th assistant to the US President for the Department of National Security Affairs. From 2014-2017, McMaster designed the future army as the director of Army Capabilities Integration Center and the deputy commanding general of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command. As the commanding general of the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Moore, he oversaw all training and education for the army’s infantry, armor and cavalry force. He has commanded organizations in wartime including the Combined Joint Inter-Agency Task Force-Shafafiyat in Kabul, Afghanistan from 2010-2012, the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment in Iraq from 2005-2006 and Eagle Troop, Second Armored Cavalry Regiment in Operation Desert Storm from 1990-1991. McMaster also served overseas as advisor to the most senior commanders in the Middle East, Iraq and Afghanistan.

McMaster is the Fouad and Michelle Ajami Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, the Bernard and Susan Liautaud Fellow at Freeman Spogli Institute and lecturer at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He is a distinguished visiting fellow at Arizona State University. He holds a PhD in military history from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

McMaster is author of bestselling books Battlegrounds: The Fight to Defend the Free World and Dereliction of Duty: Lyndon Johnson, Robert McNamara, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Lies that Led to Vietnam and is a frequent contributor to The Atlantic, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, National Review, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post and the New York Times. He is host of the podcast Battlegrounds: International Perspectives on Crucial Challenges to Security and Prosperity.
