Sydney, Australia – 16 July 2024 | Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC) is pleased to announce that track and drill pad preparation is underway at its high-priority Maggie Hays Hill ("MHH") Project in the Lake Johnston Greenstone Belt. This preparation marks the beginning of a comprehensive 2,000-metre RC drilling program set to commence in the coming weeks.

Key Highlights:

  • Preparation Underway: Track and drill pad preparation has begun at the MHH Project, focusing on the southern pegmatite lithium target and multiple gold targets across the project.
  • Drilling Program: A 2,000-metre RC drilling program will start soon, expected to take 14-20 days. The drilling will include 13 holes for 1,300 metres targeting multiple outcropping pegmatites for spodumene mineralisation and 710 metres to test multiple gold targets.
  • Project Progress: The Company has rapidly advanced the project from acquisition to drilling in just five months, including soil geochemical surveys, rock sampling, mapping, high-resolution magnetic/topography surveys, and a heritage clearance.

Managing Director Comments:

Ben Dunn, Managing Director of Intra Energy Corporation, commented:

The Company has advanced the Maggie Hays Hill Project from acquisition to drilling in just five months having conducted multiple soil geochemical surveys, rock sampling mapping, high resolution magnetic/topography surveys and a heritage clearance”.

“The exploration has identified a suite of highly prospective LCT pegmatite spodumene targets along a 2,500-metre zone that will be drill tested in a matter of weeks”.

“In addition, exploration also identified multiple quartz reefs with rock chip grades up to 17.8 g/t gold1 that will also be tested during this drill campaign”. “The Company is looking forward to commencing drilling and will keep investors fully appraised as drilling progresses”.

Project Background: The Maggie Hays Hill Project is located in the Lake Johnston Greenstone Belt, adjacent to the Norseman-Hyden Road and the Maggie Hays and Emily Anne nickel mines. The project is prospective for lithium, nickel, and gold, with geological mapping indicating extensive faulted mafic and ultramafic rocks bounded by younger granitic rocks.

Drilling Objectives:

  • Lithium Targets: Focus on the 2.5-kilometre-long southern pegmatite lithium target, with potential spodumene mineralisation similar to recent discoveries in the region.
  • Gold Targets: Testing quartz reefs with high-grade rock chip samples identified during exploration.

Strategic Significance: The drilling program aims to discover spodumene and/or gold deposits, contributing to IEC's portfolio of high-value critical minerals essential for the global clean energy transition.

This announcement has been approved for release by the Board of Intra Energy Corporation.
