MEDIA OPPORTUNITY: Interview Imam Syed Wadood Janud and members of the local Muslim Community.

Details of the Press Conference:

Date: Thursday 4th July 2024
Time: 9:00 AM (AWST)
Location: Nasir Mosque (239 Barrington St, Bibra Lake WA 6163)

Perth, Australia – The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Western Australia will hold a press conference tomorrow at 9:00 AM at the Nasir Mosque in Bibra Lake to publicly support Senator Fatima Payman's principled and moral stance on recognizing the state of Palestine.

Senator Payman, in a courageous and conscientious decision, chose to cross the floor in Parliament, despite understanding the potential repercussions. Her actions were driven by the principles of Absolute Justice, which should always supersede any party politics or other affiliations. She highlighted the urgency of the situation, noting that more than 40,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, and they cannot afford to wait for prolonged debates about their recognition.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Western Australia stands firmly with Senator Payman, emphasizing that justice and morality must guide our actions. We also note the Labour government's stance on a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. It is imperative to recognize that such a solution cannot begin to take shape without acknowledging the state of Palestine.

We invite members of the media, community leaders, and the public to join us in this significant moment of solidarity and support for justice.
