To honour South Australia’s most cherished food and beverage brands, enthusiasts are invited to show their support and participate in one of the most anticipated categories of the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards – the Consumer Choice Award, sponsored by Foodland Supermarkets.

From 22 July until 20 September, supporters can cast a vote for their favourite South Australian food or beverage brands. These votes will determine the newest recipients of the prestigious Consumer Choice Award, joining esteemed names like the 2023 winners, Kytons Bakery and Beerenberg, as well as 'Legends for Life', Menz and Golden North Ice Cream.

Tori Dixon-Whittle, CEO of Food South Australia, has urged food and beverage enthusiasts worldwide to participate, stating, "The Consumer Choice Award invites everyone to vote for the brands that hold personal significance. Whether cherished for nostalgia or enjoyed daily, we aim to celebrate the brands that deeply resonate with individuals”.

Long-standing sponsors of the Consumer Choice Award, Foodland Supermarkets, are again pleased to support this important award. Franklin dos Santos, CEO of Foodland Supermarkets, commented, “South Australia is the proud home of iconic food and beverage products and brands adored by local consumers; the Consumer Choice Award gives everyone the opportunity to vote on their most loved South Australian brands, which I’m proud to say can be found on our shelves every single day.”

To ensure inclusivity, two awards are presented each year – one for businesses with up to 15 full-time equivalent staff and another for those with over 15. Eligibility for the award is open to any South Australian food or beverage manufacturer or producer, except for 2023 Consumer Choice Award winners or recipients of the Consumer Choice Award 'Legend for Life'.

The Consumer Choice Award category plays a pivotal role in the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards, which celebrate excellence in the South Australian food and beverage industry and recognise its most outstanding contributors.

Voting closes on Friday 20 September at 5.00pm with the Top 20 announced on Monday 30 September. Winners will be unveiled at the Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 22 November 2024 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards are proudly managed by Food South Australia, the state’s food and beverage industry association, with the support of the Government of South Australia through the Department of State Development.
