TP-Link’s Archer Air R5 is an ultra-thin Wi-Fi 6 router that disappears into any decor

TP-Link Australia/NZ 4 mins read

Combine the speed of Wi-Fi 6 with the flexibility of an EasyMesh router and create a near-seamless wireless network across your home.

The TP-Link Archer Air R5 is an ultra-thin Wi-Fi 6 router, the size of an A5 sheet of paper, that lets users create a whole home mesh Wi-Fi, packaged in a form-factor that can be stuck or mounted to the wall for an unobtrusive look that doesn't compromise on capability.

A5 Paper Size

Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speed

As a Wi-Fi 6 router, the Archer Air R5 can provide up to 2402 Mbps of bandwidth on 5GHz, and 547Mbps on the 2.4GHz band1. As well as providing excellent compatibility with a wide range of wireless devices, Wi-Fi 6 also helps ensure smooth streaming and fast downloads.

Fast Slim Powerful

Minimalist slim design

The Archer Air R5 the same size as a sheet of A5 paper measuring 210 x 148mm, and at just 10.8mm thick is thinner than many electrical wall outlets. The white shell and rounded corners let the R5 integrate with – or even disappear into - modern home interiors. The bottom-mounted USB-C power point lets you keep cables to a minimum, and the dual gigabit Ethernet ports fold away when not in use.

Ultra-Thin Design

Smart Antennas

The Archer R5's four built-in smart antennas are mounted around the edge of the unit and use intelligent algorithms to detect and analyse the position of connected devices. This allows the R5 to switch to the optimal antenna arrays, further stabilising the signal, even in challenging architecture such as older or duplex houses.

EasyMesh Compatible

The Archer R5 is part of TP-Link's family of EasyMesh2 devices. This means that when added to a home network, the R5 simply extends or improves the existing home Wi-Fi, without the need for an additional network name. Since devices don't need to continually switch from main router to extenders, there's less interruption of signal. This means smoother streaming, and a more effortless networking experience.

Flexible Installation and extendable with Archer Air E5

The ultra-slim Archer R5 can be stuck to the wall using the included 3M adhesive strips. For textured or untreated surfaces, the R5 can be hung from the included bracket. Simply attach the bracket to the wall and clip the R5 on.

This mounting system also works with the Archer Air E5, a Wi-Fi 6 extender3 with the same design as the R5. Use the E5's EasyMesh compatibility to extend a Wi-Fi network to upper floors or other architecturally awkward spaces.
