Celebrate 20 year of wildlife fun at the Willoughby Fauna Fair

Willoughby Park is set to come alive on Sunday, 25 August from 10.00am to 4.00pm as the annual Fauna Fair returns, this year celebrating its 20th anniversary. This year's theme is "Our Awesome Urban Survivors," celebrating the resilience and adaptability of wildlife in urban environments.

Willoughby City Council, Mayor Tanya Taylor said “the Fauna Fair is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the beauty of our local wildlife and the importance of conservation. It's a fantastic event for families and people of all ages to enjoy, learn, and contribute to a sustainable future.”

The Fauna Fair, offers something for everyone, featuring live animal shows, live music performances, information stalls, gardening, bush care, citizen science, wildlife rescue, pets, sustainability, and conservation. There are opportunities to get involved including kids’ crafts and shows, food, drinks, and plants for purchase, as well as a Community Gardens stall with fresh produce for sale.

The event will be run single-use plastic-free and attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles, coffee cups, shopping bags, and other eco-friendly alternatives. Mark your calendars for Sunday, 25 August and head down to Willoughby Park for a day of fun, learning, and celebration at Fauna Fair 2024.

NAB shareholders owning $9.74bn in shares call on the bank to do better on deforestation

Droughts lasting longer across Australia, study shows

A studytracking not only the forces that drive drought but the damage it leaves behind has revealed that droughts have lasted longer in Australia in recent decades, especially in areas with the most people and farms.
