Sydney, Australia – 31 July 2024 | Intra Energy Corporation Limited (ASX: IEC) ("IEC" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the successful completion of its drilling program at the high-priority Maggie Hays Hill ("MHH") Project, located in the Lake Johnston Greenstone Belt, Western Australia. The drilling program, which focused on both lithium and gold targets, has yielded promising initial results.
Key Highlights:
-
Drilling Overview: The drilling program comprised 1,960 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling, targeting both lithium and gold prospects within the project area.
-
Lithium Targets: 1,300 metres of drilling were dedicated to testing lithium-bearing pegmatites, with multiple pegmatite intersections observed along a 2 km strike length. Some holes reported combined pegmatite intervals up to 19 metres wide.
-
Gold Targets: The remaining 660 metres of drilling targeted quartz reefs associated with gold mineralisation. Several holes intersected quartz veins near previously identified gold zones.
-
-
Next Steps: Drill samples have been submitted to the laboratory, with assay results expected by early September 2024.
Todd Hibberd, Principal Geologist at IEC, commented:
“Having spent 21 days in the field supervising the drilling program at the Maggies Hays Hill Project, I think the campaign has been a resounding success. Multiple intervals of pegmatite were intersected in most holes, with some holes containing combined intersections up to 19 metres wide.” “The gold focused drilling was also very successful with quartz vein intervals encountered in most of the holes drilled. We are very keen to see the assay results, which should be available in early September”.
Ben Dunn, Managing Director of IEC, commented:
“The Company has successfully completed drilling at the high-priority Maggie Hays Hill Project. We are particularly pleased with the initial geological field reports and the quantum of pegmatite and quartz intersections in the drilling. Assay results are keenly anticipated in early September and the Company will keep investors fully appraised as results become available”.
The Maggie Hays Hill Project, 80% owned by IEC, is strategically located adjacent to the Norseman-Hyden Road and the Maggie Hays and Emily Anne nickel mines. The project area is characterised by extensively faulted mafic and ultramafic rocks, bounded by younger granitic rocks to the west and east. The MHH Project is prospective for lithium, nickel, and gold, with geological mapping identifying multiple lithium-bearing pegmatite dykes and gold-bearing quartz reefs.
The project is situated within the Lake Johnston Lithium Province, 25 km north of recent spodumene discoveries at Burmeister Hill and Lake Medcalf.
