SYDNEY, 26th August 2024 — Cabra-Vale Diggers Group, a stalwart in the entertainment and leisure scene, is thrilled to announce the Ground Breaking Ceremony for its multi-stage redevelopment project at Campbelltown RSL. The groundbreaking ceremony marks the commencement of a transformative journey set to redefine the landscape of entertainment, dining, and leisure in Campbelltown. This multi-stage redevelopment is scheduled for release and launch of its various stages over the next few years.

Scheduled for Monday 2nd September 2024 Campbelltown RSL became part of the Cabra-Vale Diggers Group 20th September 2009.  After 15 years under the Cabra-Vale Diggers Group, this club is now set to change the face of Queen Street. The club will be built facing Queen Street and feature a 111-room hotel with 2 levels of underground parking.  The ground floor will feature a Café/Bar/Restaurant with Level 1 opening to a Gaming and Sports Area plus a multi-functional space including a Day Spa and Gym.

This is a very exciting time for the group as the Major Development at Canley Vale is nearing completion set to open in June 2025.  Canley Vale and Cabramatta will have a 140 room Novotel with pool, bars and gymnasium + 160-seat state-of-the-art Steakhouse and Whisky Bar will captivate guests with its in-house butchery and a dry-aged full blood Wagyu fridge. Additionally, a 300-seat Italian Restaurant, inspired by the interior design of Starbuck’s Reserve in Milan, Italy, promises a transitional all day dining concept all under the helm of Culinary Ambassador for the group Dany Karam.

“We are thrilled to start the journey of bringing this development to life” said Boris Belevski, CEO at Cabra-Vale Diggers Group. This development is about creating a hub for the community, a place where we can all come together, socialise and celebrate. The new club and hotel building will be a landmark for our community offering state of the art facilities to enjoy bringing tourism and jobs to the Campbelltown area and changing the face of Queen Street”

Cabra-Vale Diggers Group and Campbelltown RSL look forward to welcoming patrons to experience the culmination of this transformative project, promising an unparalleled blend of entertainment, dining, and leisure.

Design Thinking Must Lead Nation-Building Infrastructure

The Australian Institute of Architects welcomes Infrastructure Australia’s 2026 Infrastructure Priority List, highlighting 68 key projects for transport, water, freight, and energy—but insists design thinking must drive this work to deliver lasting value. National President Adam Haddow FRAIA emphasised: “Establishing priorities is vital, we need to ensure these priorities can also deliver impact, and create liveable and resilient communities to unlock affordable housing.” High-capacity urban transport and climate-resilient water systems are generational gamechangers, but only with strong design leadership will that deliver a boost to productivity and connectivity. “Good design has a direct bearing on whether infrastructure contributes positively to…

Roads alone do not create liveable communities

The Australian Institute of Architects is urging South Australian election candidates to back infrastructure plans that integrate housing, transport and public spaces, not just deliver more road projects. SA Chapter President Kirstie Coultas said road upgrades alone will not create the liveable, connected communities South Australians expect. “Good design connects housing, transport, education and public space — strengthening both economic and social outcomes for our state,” Ms Coultas said. The Institute is calling on the next State Government to ensure all major infrastructure decisions are guided by qualified design expertise, so public investment delivers long-term value for Adelaide and regional…
