Professor Denis O'Carroll is available for comment on the Sydney Morning Herald's story about PFAS chemicals being recorded in Sydney's water catchments.

Denis is the Managing Director at the UNSW Water Research Laboratory, and Professor at the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering.

He is an Associate Editor for Water Resources Research, the Vadose Zone Journal and the Journal of Contaminant Hydrology, and has published research about PFAS in the past.

The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is consulting with licensed landfill and sewage treatment plant (STP) operators and other stakeholders on proposed new PFAS monitoring requirements.
