Lloyds Auctioneers and Valuers 2 mins read

The unforgettable iconic shoey moment of the year is resurfacing as Chaz’s champagne covered boots are now up for grabs. His race-winning supercars boots are getting racing enthusiasts around the country exhilarated as they approach the auction blocks this Sunday!

Going under the hammer with Lloyds Auctions presents this rare opportunity to own an iconic piece of motor racing history.

This pair of race winning, and champagne covered, OMP race boots were successfully worn by Chaz Mostert on his way to winning Race 15 and 16 of the 2024 Supercars Championship for Walkinshaw Andretti United, at Sydney Motorsport Park on July 20 and 21, 2024.

The boots, have been hand signed by Chaz Mostert, and were also used for the shoey celebrations on the race 16 podium including Walkinshaw Andretti United CEO Bruce Stewart.

“It’s definitely not every day something like this becomes available to the public. There’s no doubt the shoey has become a unique Australian celebration while on the podium, and something Chaz has well and truly embraced, said Mr. Bruce Stewart, Chief Executive Officer for Walkinshaw Andretti United.

“Sydney was such an incredible weekend for Chaz, with two wins from two races, so to be able to offer up the chance to own the boots that were used on both days, and filled with champagne on Sunday, is a fantastic opportunity. A big thank you to Lloyds Auctions for making it happen,” continued Mr. Stewart.

“These boots are a symbol of dedication and skill by one of Australia’s most celebrated racing drivers and we can’t wait to see them go under the hammer,” said Mr. Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer for Lloyds Auctions.

There have been many items of great sporting memorabilia come through auction, some even breaking records. These include Craig Lowndes' race suit selling for over $20,000, Daniel Ricciardo’s race helmet selling for $61,000 and David Reynold’s race helmet selling for $15,500.

The boots come with a certificate of authenticity from Walkinshaw Andretti United and will be shipped directly to the lucky winner.

They go under the hammer Sunday 18th August.
