Sunset Cinema to return at North Sydney Oval

North Sydney Council < 1 mins read

North Sydney Council has approved the venue hire of North Sydney Oval to Sunset Cinema for summer 2024/25.

Operating for almost 25 years at the North Sydney Oval, Sunset Cinema screenings are set to increase over the upcoming summer season, giving you more opportunities to enjoy a movie under the stars.

From December through to March, you can head to the iconic field with a blanket and watch new releases, family favourites and all-time classics on the big screen. Sunset Cinema provides the community with a family-friendly, unique entertainment option over the summer school holiday break up to four times a week at one of Sydney's most iconic outdoor venues.

Mayor Zoë Baker said: "This is wonderful news for the North Sydney community. North Sydney Oval is a historic and beloved venue, available for the public to enjoy through various sporting and entertainment events. This summer, with the increase in Sunset Cinema screenings, we are providing even more opportunities for residents and visitors to experience movies in an open-air setting. Providing open space for the community is crucial in creating a vibrant, enriching local government area, and we are thrilled to expand the offerings at one of Sydney's most iconic outdoor venues."
