‘When East Meets Feast’ Melbourne’s most colourful cultural wedding exhibition is preparing to host its one-day-only extravaganza on Thursday, August 22. Held at Q Events, Melbourne’s best CBD events space in the heart of Queen St, this entirely free-to-the-public showcase is the first of a series of cultural wedding exhibitions inviting couples, friends and family to meet and mingle with some of Victoria’s best wedding vendors — with a distinct focus on Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese wedding traditions.
As well as the opportunity to discover over ten of Victoria’s most exciting wedding suppliers, vendors and coordinators, ‘When East Meets Feast’ will be more than just a wedding expo.
Guests will be transported into an immersive world of culture! A multi-sensory experience where tastes, touch and sound combine to showcase the beautiful cultures and their wedding traditions in a new and exciting way, creating a harmonious fusion of Eastern and Western wedding elements, inspiring couples to reflect on their multicultural love story.
As guests enter the main room of the event space, they will be greeted by a display of cultural fusion, with an electrifying show featuring the talents of Bollywood dancers, Chinese dancers and Dhol and Chinese drummers, concluding with lively music from popular Indian DJs. With the added charm of a playful Chinese Lion or two, the show is interwoven with playful battling moments between the drummers and dancers from each culture, culminating in an epic finale of unity.
To keep the festivities fuelled, patrons can indulge in world-class Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian cuisine from some of Melbourne’s finest caterers, including Tandoori Flames and award-winning Crystal Palace Catering, as well as a range of irresistible beverages and cocktails crafted by Q Events’ in-house bar team.
Q Events' wedding professionals will be available to assist guests with their wedding planning needs. Guests can also explore stunning wedding-style mock-ups by S&S Event Specialists and Decor It Studio, and enjoy live, hands-on demos by Nhi Makeup Artistry, Krystal Melbourne Bridal Hair, Incredibooth, and Tech Events, all designed to inspire their big day. Goodie bags filled with delightful surprises will also be available for guests to take home.
