VR, AR & AI Tertiary Education Leaders Asked To Share Their Expertise

Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) 2 mins read

Skills training and higher education leaders experienced in the use of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver quality student outcomes are being asked to share their expertise at the Australian Education and Training Innovation Symposium that’s being held on 27 November 2024 in Brisbane.

The symposium is being convened by the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA), the peak body representing independent skills training, higher education, and international education providers.  ITECA is seeking sector leaders to present at the event.

“ITECA members have a track record for innovative approaches to imparting skills and knowledge to students in an engaging way.  This symposium will explore how this reputation can be continued through the use of virtual reality and augmented reality,” said Troy Williams, ITECA Chief Executive.

The one-day program is designed to foster a collaborative environment where the tertiary education sector’s leaders can have a conversation about the use of innovative technologies to improve student outcomes and engagement.

The Australian Education and Training Innovation Symposium will also look at how artificial intelligence will impact the operation of Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and higher education providers.

The symposium will consider how it can drive efficiencies in the tertiary education sector, from the development of high-quality and industry-relevant learning content to streamlining administrative operations.

“A lot of the debate around the use of artificial intelligence has been on its use by students, but it has much broader applications and these will be unpacked at the symposium,” Mr Williams said.

Tertiary education leaders knowledgeable in the use of VR, AR and AI are encouraged to submit an expression of interest to the ITECA events team by 31 August 2024.
