World Photography Day – Ocean Photographer of the Year – finalists announced for 2024

  • Exhibition opens at the Australian National Maritime Museum on November 28

 

August 19 is World Photography Day, and the Australian National Maritime Museum is pleased to promote the extraordinary finalists that have been announced for Oceanographic Magazine’s Ocean Photographer of the Year competition. The exciting and breathtaking images will form the exhibition opening at the museum on November 28.

 

All finalists’ images will be displayed in the exhibition, including 6 Australian finalists whose spectacular images have earned them this international recognition. The overall and category winners will be announced in London on September 12.

 

These incredible images highlight both the beauty and the tragedy that exists beyond the ocean’s surface and showcase some of the finest professional and amateur photographers selected across 10 categories.

 

Museum Director and CEO Ms Daryl Karp has said, ‘We are thrilled to once again be working with Oceanographic Magazine following the great success of the first exhibition. We again will create an exhibition which showcases the extraordinary talents of the Ocean Photographer of the Year finalists and provide a platform for photographers to tell their powerful and compelling water stories.’
