Carol Hanlon, Founder and CEO of Belmont BEC (BEC Global), BPW Business Incubator, and TCF WA (TCF Global), will be speaking at the Women Economic Forum Australia on 20th and 21st September 2024; an event that unites global women leaders dedicated to empowering women, fostering economic growth, and driving positive change.

Carol has been a prominent presenter at past global Women Economic Forums since 2017, sharing her insights in cities such as Delhi, India; The Hague, Netherlands: Birmingham, UK; and was convenor and presenter of the Women Economic Forum held in Perth, Western Australia in 2019.

This year, Carol’s two topics include, “Sustainable Fashion: Trends and Innovations” and "Financial Empowerment: Strategies for Women in Business," promises to ignite inspiration and provide actionable insights and empower women to be better informed.

Sept 20th - Sustainable Fashion: Trends and Innovations will provide insights to be better informed when making apparel purchases for themselves, family and/or their business in regards traceability, transparency, ethical supply chains, circularity, ESG, and the sustainable development goals. Carol established her own fashion design label in Victoria Australia in 70’s for 20yrs, manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing and export. In 1998, Carol founded TCFWA Inc., not for profit Industry association assisting designers in WA, across Australia and globally.

Sept 21st - Financial Empowerment: Strategies for Women in Business will provide guidance and insights for women to take control of their financial futures and drive their businesses to new heights.  Carol is a global advocate of assisting women to better understand some of the issues holding them back in business growth and to ensure they take time to work ‘ON’ their business and not only ‘IN’ their business. In 1994, Carol was founding CEO/Facilitator of the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc.(BEC) a not for profit association assisting small businesses in WA, across Australia and globally.

Carol says, “Financial empowerment in business isn't just about managing resources - it's about reclaiming your narrative, driving your vision forward, and breaking barriers to create a legacy of success and resilience."

Each year, the Women Economic Forum brings together a diverse and dynamic community of leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers, and this year is no exception.

As an advocate for small and micro business, Carol Hanlon continues to develop ways of communicating with all of her current and past 40,000+ Belmont BEC and TCFWA clients, acknowledging that women globally have long sought out opportunities to learn business skills to improve their knowledge and practical skills in starting or running a small business. Each year, she runs multiple webinars and live events, with many of focused on the financial literacy and digital literacy for women and fashion sustainability topics to assist creatives to grow their business to meet business ESG and consumer demand and established the BPW Business Incubator in 2012 to directly assist women in business with issues to start, grow or expand their business.

Passionate about nurturing the next generation of formidable female leaders in business, she aligns closely with WEF's mission to inspire, empower, and connect women, helping them realise their full potential and drive transformative change in their communities and beyond.
