Empower Food Relief Centre proudly announces the grand re-opening of its facility, set to revolutionise the way our community addresses food insecurity and supports those in need.
"While our Food Relief Centre in Southbank has been operating for many years, we are excited to unveil the recent renovation of our facility. These upgrades were designed to undergird our ethos to preserve dignity for every person, regardless of their circumstances," said Neil Smith CEO Empower Australia.
"We understand that seeking food relief can be daunting and as such, we aim to alleviate this stigma by creating a space that emulates a high-end grocery store where individuals are empowered to make choices in keeping with their cultural preferences," he said.
"Our upgraded facility allows for an improved shopping experience and maintains our focus on preserving dignity. The three cutting-edge shopping spaces increase our capacity to serve growing numbers of recipients in a timely manner.
"In addition, we have created comfortable waiting areas that allow people to socialise with others, facilitating community connection alongside food relief," Smith concluded.
Key Details of the Grand Re-Opening:
Date: 5th September 2024
Time: 11.30AM
Location: 412 City Rd, Southbank 3006.

Boosting farmers’ incomes with solar panels

ORDOS, China, Sept. 12, 2024 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/-- Viewed from above, 196,000 blue solar panels form a dynamic silhouette of a horse, galloping through the Kubuqi Desert. The solar power station of Junma, which literally means horse in Chinese, is part of the "great photovoltaic wall," an ambitious solar energy desert reclamation project, stretching along the northern edge of the Kubuqi Desert…
