Multimediax on behalf of Segway Online 2 mins read

Tech Sales Online is pleased to be part of the new Queensland Government’s E-Mobility Rebate Scheme, an initiative to make e-scooters more accessible and affordable, giving up to $200 money back on e-scooter purchases.

Among the eligible models are popular Segway e-scooters, including:

These models meet the criteria (more details below) and are ideal for those looking to transition to sustainable transportation.

This scheme is a significant component of Queensland's Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy, which aims to lower transport emissions and encourage the adoption of safer, environmentally-conscious travel solutions.

Eligibility and Requirements

The E-Mobility Rebate Scheme offers substantial financial incentives, allowing eligible Queensland residents to receive a rebate on the purchase of approved e-scooter models. To qualify, applicants must be 18 years or older, residents of Queensland, and must not have previously received the rebate. Businesses are not eligible for participation in the scheme.

E-scooters under this rebate must be designed for single-person use, equipped with handlebars for steering, and must not exceed a speed of 25km/h. Additionally, they must conform to specific dimensions: no longer than 1,250mm, no wider than 700mm, and not heavier than 60kg when unladen.

Application Process

Prospective applicants must purchase their e-scooter from Tech Sales Online on or after 23 September 2024, and then visit the QRIDA website to submit their applications.

Applicants should be ready with the necessary documentation, including proof of purchase, charger identification, and evidence of residency. As rebates are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, anyone interested needs to apply as soon as possible. There is limited funding available, so riders are encouraged to get their applications in quickly.

You cannot apply as a business or if you have already received the rebate.

Benefits of the Rebate

The scheme significantly reduces the upfront costs associated with purchasing an e-scooter, offering rebates up to $200. Beyond financial savings, the shift to e-scooters helps decrease greenhouse gas emissions and alleviates traffic congestion.

The increased adoption of e-scooters also contributes to improved air quality and reduced noise pollution in urban areas like Brisbane, offering a convenient alternative to traditional vehicles.

Take Action Now

Purchase your e-scooter from Tech Sales Online, then visit the QRIDA website for further details or to apply for the rebate. By participating in this initiative, you’re not only saving on purchase costs but also playing a major part in a more sustainable future. With Segway, you can support a cleaner, greener Queensland with every ride.

Enough Recalls: The Safety Testing Gap Putting Our Children at Risk

Key Facts: Australia has no blanket requirement for mandatory pre-market safety testing for many children’s products labelled “3+”, unless a specific hazard standard applies (such as button batteries or magnets). Mandatory safety standards primarily apply to toys for children up to and including 36 months, and to products with identified risks such as button batteries or magnets. In 2024–25, the ACCC published 248 product recalls, many involving consumer goods that posed potential hazards to children. Recent recalls have included asbestos-contaminated children’s sand products and popular retail toys recalled due to serious choking risks. Consumer safety advocates and industry experts are…
