24 September 2024: Tomorrow, Wednesday 25 September, Australia’s largest Mexican restaurant chain Zambrero is giving away a massive 90,000 burritos to celebrate opening its 300th store.
Every one of the 300 stores has 300 free burritos as part of the milestone celebrations.
“We wanted to take this moment to celebrate with our customers, and what better way than with free burritos,” said Matt Kenny, Zambrero CEO.
Zambrero was founded in 2005 by Dr Sam Prince in Braddon, Canberra. Zambrero now has an extensive network of restaurants across Australia and the globe, with restaurants in the UK, Ireland, NZ and the US.
“300 restaurants is a momentous milestone, and I want to thank our wonderful franchise network, restaurant teams and, most importantly, our customers for making this possible,” said Dr Prince.
Zambrero Hawthorn has the honour of being the network’s 300th restaurant. Located on Glenferrie Rd, the restaurant opened on 18 September. The restaurant is led by one of Zambrero’s most experienced and accomplished Franchise Partners, Luke Grady. He owns 10 restaurants and has been involved with the brand since 2015.
“We’re very excited to open the 300th restaurant in Hawthorn. There’s a real buzz around Melbourne at the moment with lots of new Zambrero restaurants opening in and around the city,” said Grady, who has a formidable team supporting him.
The Zambrero ethos has always been to deliver high-quality, fresh and convenient Mexican-inspired food whilst helping alleviate world hunger. Dr Prince was inspired by his aid work as a doctor in developing countries to establish Plate 4 Plate[1], an initiative that has seen Zambero donate over 80 million meals to those in need.
The 90,000 free burritos on offer on 25 September will also mean an additional 90,000 meals donated through Plate 4 Plate.
Kenny said, “We’re opening a new restaurant every week as we bring Feel Good Mex to more people.”
He followed with, “Our food is made of high quality, fresh ingredients — it’s great tasting, great value and better for you. Not only is it better for you, it’s also better for others because of Plate 4 Plate.”
