Tamborine Mountain in the famed Scenic Rim, just an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, is set to welcome a new boutique hotel, simply called, The Tamborine.

The Tamborine is a beautiful and stylistic reimagining of a 1980s Hacienda-style motel, with breathtaking views from each of the 23 rooms, all boasting private balconies or terraces and luxe king beds. Guests can unwind poolside with its heated mineral pool and spa whilst ordering from a considered drinks and bar snacks menu as well as enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and Peacock O’clock (hosted aperitifs) in The Tamborine’s stylish lounge and bar area.

From the people behind the acclaimed Cassis Red Hill in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, The Tamborine will open in early December 2024 and is taking bookings now.

Guests can curate their own stay with suggested experiences across the mountain; be they a foodie, adventurer, aspiring artisan, wellness warrior or someone wishing to disconnect and rejuvenate.

“Whether it be immersing oneself in nature, enjoying a tipple at one of the many and emerging micro-breweries and distilleries, or exploring the artisan wares the mountain is famous for, The Tamborine will be the perfect escape for our guests. We want guests leaving feeling enriched and connected, and eager to return,” said co-owner Nina Aberdeen.

"We are beyond excited to open the doors to The Tamborine and share this special place with our guests. The hotel is designed to offer a seamless connection between our guests, our hosts, the natural surrounds, and the local community. Every detail has been crafted to ensure that when guests arrive, they feel a deep sense of relaxation and belonging. We can’t wait to see them experience the stunning views, unwind by the pool, and explore everything the Scenic Rim has to offer," said co-owner Gina McNamara.

“With its stunning unique offerings as not only a mid-week getaway or weekend destination but also a highly sought-after wedding destination, Tamborine Mountain attracts over 5,000 visitors per week seeking relaxation and adventure. The booming wedding industry injects over $20 million into the local economy every year and as this sector, and the tourism industry continues to grow, demand for accommodation has continued to grow,” said Christelle Moller, Executive Officer of Destination Scenic Rim. “The Tamborine, as a beautifully redesigned boutique accommodation offering of 23 rooms and it’s thoughtfully curated experiences, provides a unique experience to enhance visitors stays, complimenting the established boutique getaway cluster on the mountain,” she said.

The Tamborine has a genuine sustainability vision and commitment to preserving the unique beauty and surrounds of the local area. All materials and suppliers have been selected to tread lightly on the environment. An example of this is the extensive use of Queensland plywood which has one of the lowest carbon footprints of any construction material. This renewable material also has an organic warmth which complements the layered interiors of the hotel.
