Australian farmers trust Bayer to drive innovation

Bayer Crop Science 2 mins read

Melbourne, 14 October 2024 Global Life Sciences company Bayer has been recognised by Australian farmers as the 2024 Chemicals and Fertilisers Most Trusted Brand in the annual Roy Morgan Most Trusted Agribusiness Brand Awards.

The accolade is based on the perceptions of more than 1000 farmers who participated in the Roy Morgan survey, sharing their views on a range of agribusiness brands.

Bayer Crop Science Head of Customer Marketing Chris Staff, said the recognition was a vote of confidence in the high quality of Bayer’s products and showed Australian farmers appreciated Bayer’s investment in Australian agriculture.

“The team at Bayer works tirelessly to bring new innovations to the Australian market. This is a long and expensive process, so having Australian farmers endorse our work is rewarding,” Mr Staff said.

"Bayer leads the industry in agricultural R&D spending; for every $100 farmers spend with us, we reinvest over $10 back into research and innovation to advance the future of agriculture.

“We know innovation has never been more important to Australian farmers, so we’re pleased that farmers trust us to keep driving efficiency, sustainability and production.”

Mr Staff said the company is also backing Australian farmers through its investment in local jobs and Australia’s regional and rural communities.

"This year, Bayer reaffirmed its commitment to local employment and manufacturing by gaining approval to use the Australian Made logo on more than 60 of its crop protection products," said Mr Staff.

“We formulate many of our products in Queensland – supporting local jobs and ensuring our supply chains are as reliable as possible.”

Bayer has a team across the country, developing products, conducting local field work and fostering connection with growers and industry groups.

“Bayer is an innovation company that places growers at the centre of its work, we work with them to provide products that meet their needs. The issues and challenges that Australian growers are facing are front of mind for the Bayer team,” said Mr Staff,

“This award recognises the effort and focus of our team. We’ll continue to build on this as we work to improve the lives and livelihoods of farmers and their communities.”
