CIMIC Group 2 mins read

CIMIC Group company Leighton Asia has been awarded a contract to construct a data centre in Hyderabad, India, by a multinational technology corporation.

The project is the second awarded to Leighton Asia by this major client and adds to Leighton Asia’s growing portfolio of data centres across the region in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau and the Philippines.

The data centre is being delivered in joint venture with Sterling and Wilson and includes full civil, structural and architectural works, as well as the mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit out.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said: “Across our global network of companies, we’re bringing major data centre campuses to life for the top hyperscale data centre companies. Our commitment to delivering cutting-edge infrastructure, and the role of Asia and India in advancing the digital future, is deepening our collaboration with these operators in the region.”

Leighton Asia Managing Director Brad Davey said: “Securing another data centre project in India demonstrates our core expertise in delivering complex engineering solutions. We are pleased to be working again with our key customer to deliver this critical infrastructure.”

This project has a target for an Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.

Construction will be completed in Q4 2026.
