GS Engineering & Construction achieves significant Australia safety accreditation

GS E&C Australia < 1 mins read

GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia has achieved accreditation under the Australian Government’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) Accreditation Scheme, a milestone reinforcing the South Korean company’s commitment to growth in Australia’s infrastructure and energy markets.

Administered by the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner, this accreditation required GS E&C to demonstrate compliance with rigorous health and safety standards across its projects. Previously, GS E&C partnered with other accredited firms to operate in Australia. With this accreditation, the company can  serve as a Principal Contractor on Australian government-funded projects.

“This accreditation underscores our dedication to protecting the safety of our workforce and the communities we serve,” said Managing Director, Dr. Steve Sung-han Cho. “Having pioneered groundbreaking safety innovations in South Korea and on global projects, we understand that safety is the cornerstone of quality and innovation. We are delighted to have our commitment recognised in Australia through this formal accreditation.”

GS E&C is proud to be one of the first South Korean engineering and construction companies to achieve this accreditation in Australia, solidifying its reputation as a global leader in safety and construction excellence. The company remains dedicated to advancing workplace safety through ongoing innovation, demonstrated by its establishment of the 'Safety School' at the Victorian Tunnelling Centre.
