Pretty purple flowers and pretty purple sips in Ipswich this Jacaranda season

Jacaranda season in Ipswich is officially in full swing with pretty flowers dotting the Ipswich countryside with purple touches.

To celebrate, restaurants are offering pretty purple cocktails in honour of the gorgeous blooms.

Here's how to enjoy the best of the flowers and cocktails available.

  1. Head to the Goodna Jacaranda Festival this weekend!  The park where the festival is held is surrounded by gorgeous purple blooms.
  2. Pick up a bottle of Imbibis Craft Distillery's small batch Jacaranda Gin.  (Open Fridays or by appointment).
  3. Wander Timothy Malony Oval and grab a photo of the iconic St Mary's Catholic Church framed by purple flowers.
  4. Taste a Jacaranda Blossom cocktail created with Imbibis Jacaranda Gin at Bakehouse Steakhouse, right near the oval.
  5. Head over to Rusty Nail Bar to sip a Jacaranda Bloom cocktail - also crafted with Imbibis Jacaranda Gin.
  6. Enjoy a Southside cocktail at The Cottage Restaurant, sit on the balcony and overlook the blooming trees.
  7. Book in to stay at Woodlands of Marburg which has many Jacaranda trees in bloom at this time of year.
  8. See the blooms from the basket of a Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flight.
  9. Settle under a blooming tree in Queens Parka and while you're there visit the Ipswich Nature Centre.
  10. Indulge in a purple lavender milkshake or scoop at UB's Milk Bar.
