Rental Affordability Index shows Victorian crisis has hit historic low

A penetrating snapshot of rental affordability in regional Victoria has laid bare the crisis that is reshaping the housing market and making life harder on people on low and moderate incomes. 

National Shelter and SGS Economics & Planning are holding an embargoed zoom briefing for journalists ahead of the release of the 2024 Rental Affordability Index showing plummeting affordability across regional Victoria. There will be time for questions after the briefing.
