Your small business could be wasting energy and losing money, without you even knowing it.
Small businesses in the North Sydney local government area can get free help to reduce their energy bills and be more efficient, thanks to a new initiative that will help you identify energy-saving opportunities.
For example, for businesses that handle food, leaking cooling rooms are a common weak spot – wasting energy and money – but can be easily fixed with simple measures.
The free energy assessments include a bill comparison, energy audit, checklist of energy-saving opportunities, and information about rebates and grants for taking efficiency measures or switching to renewables.
“This is a great opportunity for small businesses to reduce their carbon footprint, with Council-funded support. It’s part of our strong commitment to environmental sustainability. As a community, Council, residents, and businesses all have a role to play in reducing our environmental footprint,” Mayor Zoë Baker said.
The assessments are conducted by an energy efficiency audit expert.
Small businesses with fewer than 20 employees are encouraged to submit an expression of interest now. Further eligibility details and an application form are available at northsydney.nsw.gov.au/EnergyCheckup
