“Grab Life by the Nuts!” FertilitySA Hosts a Morning Tea to Crack Open Men’s Health Conversations

FertilitySA powered by Genea 2 mins read

18th November 2024, ADELAIDE, South Australia - This International Men’s Day, Tuesday 19th November, FertilitySA is teaming up with Charlesworth Nuts, Colliers and Quintessential to crack open the conversation on men’s health with a morning tea like no other!

"Men’s fertility health often flies under the radar, so we’re bringing it out in the open with a wink and a bunch of tasty treats. It’s time for blokes to get comfortable discussing their health, and we think a cheeky approach over a morning tea is the best way to start” Kathleen Waite, General Manager FertilitySA explained.

With one in twenty Australian men affected by fertility issues and their fertility health often being a marker for other health issues, it’s time to make men’s reproductive health part of the mainstream wellness conversation.

From 9.30am-11am at 431 King William Street, Adelaide, the morning tea will feature specially curated snacks, some light-hearted educational moments, and plenty of inspiration on how men can take charge of their health.

FertilitySA is also offering the opportunity to book a Free* Fertility Health Check consult to give men a personalised understanding of their sperm and fertility health.

Brett Charlesworth, Founder and CEO of Charlesworth Nuts said “I’m proud to say I’ve been checking nuts my whole life, making sure they’re of the highest quality, and every man should do the same.  And I’m proud we can use my nuts, Charlesworth Nuts, to shine a light on your nuts.”

The event is being held as part of Movember.

*Available for Medicare card holders. Consult bulk-billed however testing may incur out-of-pocket costs.

RACGP: Look after your mental health this holiday season

The Royal Australian College of GPs (RACGP) has urged Australians to look after themselves and their loved ones this holiday season. College President, Dr Michael Wright, said that reaching out and helping others can make all the difference. “The holiday season can be a challenging time for many Australians,” he said. “Many of us can have family and relationship pressures, financial pressures may become more obvious, and isolation and loneliness can be at their worst this time of year too. So, during this festive season please try to look after yourself and the people in your life. It can be…

What can your poo reveal about your heart health?

Human and microbial proteins found in poo could help doctors detect a long-term risk of deadly cardiovascular conditions in otherwise healthy patients, avoiding the need for costly and invasive diagnostic procedures. A new study from Monash University published today has linked the presence of certain faecal proteins to conditions like heart failure, and found they can be used as an early indicator of risk and outcomes. This is a breakthrough in the early prevention and diagnosis of conditions that could otherwise go hidden until they become fatal. Dr Francine Marques, a Monash Professor in the School of Biological Sciences and…
