“December 1 marks that exciting line in the sand; it’s the start of summer and there’s nothing like summer in Queensland, where the smell of sunscreen is everywhere, kids’ faces are covered in coloured zinc, togs are the preferred dress code and laughter is the playlist,” said South Bank Corporation CEO Bill Delves. “South Bank is the place where people come to relax, have fun, be inspired and create memories, and we are so excited to celebrate the First Day of Summer this Sunday with a celebration at our iconic Streets Beach, where everyone is welcome and it’s free!” he said.

South Bank is set to celebrate all summer long with its Summer of Wonder festivities, including magical Christmas activations and events from 14 December 2024.
