Brisbane, it’s time to kick off Summer 2024 – this Sunday at Streets Beach, South Bank

 

ATTENTION BRISBANE: this is your official invitation to welcome Summer 2024 in classic Queensland style, this Sunday 1 December at Streets Beach in South Bank. And the best part? IT’S FREE!

From 10am to 1pm, celebrate the First Day of Summer at Brisbane’s iconic inner-city beach and soak up the sun with free Streets ice creams, giveaways, beach games, essential safety tips and plenty more as South Bank kicks off a summer-filled with endless fun.

 

Here’s what’s in store:

  • FREE Streets Ice Creams: The quintessential Australian brand will be giving away classics like Paddle Pop ice creams and Calippo ice blocks – but be quick, they’re sure to go fast!
  • Fun in the Sun with Surf Life Saving Queensland: Watch live CPR demonstrations, join in kids' games like flags, and learn essential water and sun safety tips.
  • Stay Safe: Cool off at South Bank’s very own ‘Hydration Station’ with free iced cold water and Surf Life Saving Queensland sunscreen.
  • Giveaways Galore: Enter for your chance to win a $100 Ben & Jerry’s voucher – the perfect summer treat! Nova 106.9’s Street Team will add to the excitement, with visitors getting the chance to ‘Spin and Win’ a ton of prizes.

South Bank is set to celebrate all summer long with its Summer of Wonder festivities, including magical Christmas activations and events from 14 December 2024.
