THE ORDER OF MASKS IS THE PERFECT GIFT FOR YOUNG ADULTS & FANTASY READERS THIS CHRISTMAS!

Littlelion PR 3 mins read

14 November 2024:  The Order of Masks - the newly launched, must-read epic fantasy adventure by author Alina Bellchambers is the must-have holiday gift for young adults & fantasy lovers this festive season.

The 29-year-old author launched The Order of Masks in Australia a couple of months ago, and off the back of strong sales domestically, is on the cusp of rolling the novel out internationally, starting in the UK next month.

Bellchambers said that she was excited about getting her book into the hands of young adults and fantasy lovers across both markets this festive season.

“I grew up surrounded by books in my parents' bookstore, and my love for fantasy began there - immersed in fantastical stories with rich, romantic world-building, and amazing heroic and powerful characters.

“I hope The Order of Masks will be the kind of story that readers unwrap and treasure this Christmas, just like the books that shaped my own childhood,” she said.

The Order of Masks is the first book in a two-part duology secured by Bellchambers in an international publishing deal.  Perfect for fans of young adult fantasy, the rich character development, moral dilemmas, and twists will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Set in a Roman-inspired empire, The Order of Masks follows two complex female protagonists, Mira and Scarlett, as they navigate a treacherous world of magic, court politics, and dangerous choices. With themes of love, betrayal, and the struggle for power, the novel is an ideal read for people looking for a thrilling, high-stakes adventure.

Drawing on her background in psychology, Bellchambers creates a narrative that explores the complex choices women in power must make, and the emotional and moral toll those decisions take. As Mira and Scarlett struggle to survive in a cutthroat political empire, readers are challenged to consider what they are willing to sacrifice for love, power, and survival.

New York Times bestselling fantasy author Dr. Sean Williams and celebrated author Lyndall Clipstone joined Bellchambers at launch events to coincide with her launch in Australia.

“To be with such esteemed company from this genre, especially for my debut novel, was really special.  These events were a hit with the fans who were eager to hear more about the book and the sequel which will launch later in 2025,” Bellchambers said.

With Christmas just around the corner, The Order of Masks is the perfect holiday gift for young adults or adults who are young at heart and love the fantasy genre.

Bellchambers secured a two-book deal with Pan Macmillan Australia and Hodderscape UK.  The Order of Masks is currently available for sale in Australia and launches in the UK on 12 December next month, with the sequel scheduled to be released late next year.

Now available at leading Australian bookstores including Dymocks, QBD, Harry Hartog, and Readings, as well as major retailers like Big W and Amazon.  eBook and audiobook versions are also available for those looking to dive into the story on the go.

As a children’s writer and creative writing teacher, I’ve tried to stay loyal to that young-adult self, who couldn’t stop turning the pages. He helped me understand what young-adult fiction could do to counteract negative or cynical stories about 'young people today'. “Marsden’s Tomorrow books emerged…
