For the very first time in elf history, QT Gold Coast is unwrapping the ultimate Gingerland QTea High Tea – a sweet indulgence alongside its popular candy-covered emporium, QT Gingerland. Located in the designer playground’s light-filled lobby, the festive fanfare will be offering a sleighful of Christmas delights from Friday, 22nd November through to the end of December.

QT’s dedicated elves and purveyors of patisserie have been working day and night to festively fill this enchantingly edible world, floor to ceiling.

This year is set to be double in size and twice the magic, with over 900 handmade gingerbread bricks, adorned with over 300kgs of royal icing and embellished with hundreds of colourful FUNDAY candy.

A treat for all tastebuds - and every stocking - guests are invited to indulge in plum pudding, an assortment of nougat, shortbread cookies, minced pies, traditional white Christmas, mince pies and catch gingerbread people roaming on rocky road.

Gingerland QTea High Tea is the sweetest indulgence that only the finest QT chefs could possibly dream up. Think Christmas ‘bauble’ arancini and Meredith goat’s cheese with black truffle filled Santa hats to sugary sensations such as white chocolate and lemon curd QT snowmen and classic gingerbread men.

The mastermind behind this wonderland of delight and decadence is QT Executive Pastry Chef and QHA Chef of the Year award winner, Daniel King. Bringing his signature Willy Wonka style, King brings a fantastical touch to the new Gingerland QTea High Tea and ensuring the QT Gingerland emporium provides guests with a sugar rush with a side of festive theatrics.

King says, “This year, we have doubled the number of gingerbread bricks in the edible emporium, and we are spreading the festive cheer with our very first QT high tea takeover, reimaged in our signature QT quirk with all the trimmings.”

QT Gingerland is open daily from 22 November until 31 December, with the Gingerland QTea High Tea served in FIXX Café daily from 10am until 2pm.

Summer is the time for Leatherwood Honey production and everything needs to be ready

Preparing Leatherwood Honey hives for summer involves looking after queen bees, hives and production equipment. Tasmania’s second oldest commercial honey producer R Stephens Apiarists, located at Mole Creek in the stunningly beautiful Meander Valley, has been producing Leatherwood Honey since 1920, are well versed in working with Tasmania’s seasons. R Stephens hives are situated in the West Coast and Central Highlands of Tasmania, near Mt Arrowsmith. It’s a region well known for remoteness, beautiful mountains, harsh winters and unpredictable summers. Hive maintenance Queen Bee Breeder and fourth generation beekeeper Josh Stephens says Leatherwood Trees (Eucryphia lucida) have a very short…
