CIMIC’s Leighton Asia acquires engineering consultancy, growing in advanced technology

CIMIC Group company Leighton Asia has acquired Maverick United Consulting Engineers, an engineering consultancy specializing in digital infrastructure, advanced technology and high-rise buildings.

Headquartered in Malaysia, Maverick delivers projects for leading multinational clients in the advanced technology sector, including for data centre clients, and in the built environment across Asia.

Leighton Asia has a portfolio of data centres across Asia in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau, the Philippines, Singapore and India, delivering bespoke facilities for industry leaders. The combination of Leighton Asia and Maverick grows Leighton Asia’s services in this rapidly expanding market and provides potential for further high technology projects such as semiconductor and clean room production facilities.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said: “Maverick has significant exposure to multinational technology clients, and leading engineering capabilities. The combination of Maverick and Leighton Asia will allow us to provide a wider range of services and solutions that our clients are looking for in Asia, at a time when the region is expected to be the fastest growing data centre market.”

Austral acquires Lady Loretta mine to significantly expand copper growth pipelin

Austral Resources Australia Ltd (ASX:AR1) has entered into an agreement with Glencore AG to acquire the Lady Loretta mining leases, associated exploration permits and site infrastructure, a strategic transaction that materially strengthens Austral’s copper growth pipeline and balance sheet.
