Return and Earn has launched an innovative “takes all” machine that is set to transform how residents of St Marys recycle their eligible bottles, cans and cartons this summer.
No more pre-sorting of containers – you can now drop all your eligible drink containers through any single chute at our new machine, making it faster to return and earn the 10c refund for every container.
The Dunheved Circuit St Marys Return and Earn machine is the 20th return point in the Penrith City Council area. It is located at 89 Dunheved Circuit and is open daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm.
“Penrith City Council residents are already enthusiastic recyclers, having returned more than over 440 million eligible bottles, cans and cartons through local return points since the scheme began,” said James Dorney, CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway, network operator for Return and Earn.
“These improvements to local return points will make it even easier and quicker to return your eligible bottles and cans and pocket the refund.”
Recyclers can still print a voucher for the refund amount, which can be redeemed for cash at Coles, or they can opt for an e-voucher or payment directly into their bank or PayPal account using the Return and Earn app.
Locals can also donate their refund to one of over 300 donation partners listed on the Return and Earn app, or to the current statewide donation partner Foodbank NSW & ACT. Foodbank is a food relief charity providing much needed assistance to individuals and families across NSW and the ACT.
Return and Earn has become a key fundraising channel for many charities and community groups in NSW. Over $62 million has been raised from donations and fees from hosting return points since the scheme launched in 2017.
More than 12.5 billion drink containers have been returned for recycling through the network of over 650 return points across NSW since Return and Earn began, resulting in over $1.25 billion in container refunds back in people’s pockets.
Summer is peak season for Return and Earn, with up to nine million containers expected to be returned daily in December and January. To make your return experience stress-free, you can check the live status of machines on the Return and Earn website or the app before heading out to avoid delays. You can also check your containers eligibility for the 10c refund using the container checker tool on the app
