New Year’s Eve in North Sydney: Plan ahead

North Sydney Council < 1 min read

As New Year’s Eve approaches, North Sydney residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening.

Road closures and clearways

Significant road closures and special event clearways will be in place, so please allow extra time and consider using public transport.

Managed access vantage points

Managed access arrangements will be in place at three vantage points: Bradfield Park, Blues Point Reserve, and Lavender Bay Parklands.

Entry is free and unticketed; however, capacity limits apply, and sites will close once full. Re-entry will not be permitted. Facilities include portable toilets, water refill stations, and food outlets. Alcohol, glass, pets, and camping are prohibited.

Non-managed sites

Foreshore parks such as Waverton Park and Cremorne Point will remain open without managed access. These areas are alcohol-free zones and will feature additional safety measures like portable toilets and extra bins.

New this year

Balls Head Reserve will close to vehicles at 10pm on 30 December and to pedestrians at midday on 31 December, reopening on 1 January.
