Words from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

The event is inspired by the teachings of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and their slogan, “Love for All, Hatred for None.” Regarding the issue of integration of immigrants into Western society and speaking about the values of loyalty and integration, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, has stated:

“We teach our children from childhood that to be peaceful is an essential part of their faith...For me, true integration is to love the country in which you live and to be completely loyal to it. Thus, all immigrants should be loyal to their adopted nation, they should truly love it, they should honour it, they should be law-abiding and work for its prosperity and progress. This is integration.”

This sentiment reflects the spirit of the event, fostering unity among Australians of all backgrounds and strengthening community ties.

“This event is a cherished tradition, at Bait-ul-Masroor Mosque, that brings together our mosque members, neighbours, and the broader community to celebrate the values of unity, inclusion, and mutual respect. Ahmadiyya mosques play a vital role in society, serving as welcoming spaces for the entire community, regardless of individual faith or background,” said Imam Mohammad Atae Rabbi Hadi, Missionary In-Charge for Queensland and Northern Territory.

With a specially prepared barbecue dinner and an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, this event promises to be an unforgettable way to mark Australia Day 2025.

Extending post-study work rights attracts more international students

New research from the e61 Institute shows that extending post-study work rights (PSWRs) boosts international student enrolments and encourages graduates to stay in Australia temporarily - but does little to improve their job prospects or chances of permanent residency. The study analyses Australia’s 2013 reforms to the Temporary Graduate Visa, which extended post-study work rights from 18 months to up to four years for university graduates.
