DARPA veteran, Mick Maher Joins Amaero as Fellow – Defense Programs

Amaero International Limited (ASX:3DA) (“Amaero” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that Michael “Mick” Maher has joined Amaero as Fellow – Defense Programs.

 

Mr. Maher has over 30 years of expertise in advanced materials and manufacturing experience with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL).

While working at DARPA as Program Manager, he led a portfolio of programs specializing in advanced materials and manufacturing which included Tailorable Feedstock and Forming, Materials Development for Platforms, and Open Manufacturing programs. The programs enabled rapid qualification of new manufacturing technologies and development of new advanced materials. Prior to joining DARPA, Mr. Maher worked at ARL as Chief of the Composite and Hybrid Materials Branch and Chief of the Materials Application Branch. In his role at ARL, he oversaw advanced materials research and development programs. More recently, he has served as Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of The Applied Science and Technology Research Organization of America (ASTRO), a research institute advocating for adoption of additive / advanced manufacturing. Earlier in his career, held various technology and management positions over a 20-year period at Martin Marietta, AAI and DuPont. He has received numerous awards including Fellow with the Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE), the Secretary of Defense’s Award for Excellence, the 100 Greatest Army Inventions and the Society of Manufacturing Engineer’s Jud Hall Composites Manufacturing Award.
