Marmota Ltd (ASX:MEU) Reports 73% Increase in Top Gold Grade at Aurora Tank Project in South Australia

20 January 2025 – Marmota Limited (ASX:MEU) has announced a substantial increase in the gold grade from the Aurora Tank project in South Australia. New results from Bulk Leach Extractable Gold (BLEG) testing have significantly upgraded the previously reported top-grade gold assay from 50 g/t to an average of 87 g/t gold, marking a 73% increase.

The results come from the high-grade interval at Hole 24ATRC075 (32–33m downhole), where five separate 2kh BLEG samples, have returned grades of 81 g/t, 92 g/t, 94 g/t, 72 g/t, and 94 g/t gold.

Highlights

  • Enhanced Grades: All five BLEG samples confirmed significantly higher gold grades, with three samples exceeding 90 g/t gold.

  • Robust Methodology: BLEG testing, involving much larger sample sizes than standard fire assay, was employed to minimize variability due to the nugget effect and provide high confidence in resource estimation.

  • Resource Modelling Ahead: The upgraded results are expected to play a crucial role as Marmota advances to resource modelling for Aurora Tank.

Marmota’s Executive Chairman, Dr. Colin Rose, commented: Companies that are lucky enough to get such high grades are sometimes reluctant to re-test them, particularly if there is a nugget effect that caused the high grade in the first place. Marmota has re-tested the  highest 50 g/t sample from the November 2024 ASX release using the high precision large sample BLEG technique – not just once – but by taking the entire sample bag, and subdividing it into 5 fresh samples … with ALL 5 samples consistently returning high grade gold, and every sample returning dramatically higher gold grades with the average grade increasing by over 73%. We are delighted with the verification of high grades at Aurora Tank, particularly relevant with resource modelling next to commence.

Aurora Tank Project

Aurora Tank, located in the Gawler Craton in South Australia, has consistently delivered outstanding gold intersections. The project is situated in a highly prospective, underexplored region with significant potential for further discoveries.
