Monash University < 1 mins read

A Monash expert is available to chat about the possibility of a pre-election interest rate cut on the cards despite an inflation uptick.

Comments attributable to Professor Brooks:

“The continuing fall in the core inflation measure is a positive development.

“In making the next interest rate decision the RBA will consider this important data but also the employment data that remains strong.

“The December quarter inflation data is due for release on January 29 so the RBA will also have the benefit of that data before its February decision.”
