The reveNIR (Near-infrared spectroscopy) analyzer

ANDOVER, Mass.--BUSINESS WIRE--

SciAps, a global leader in scientific instruments and technology solutions, is excited to announce the launch of its new handheld Vis-NIR (Visible and Near-Infrared) analyzer, reveNIR, engineered to set new standards in mineral reconnaissance and exploration.

The discontinuation of the ASD Halo left a significant gap in the market—one that existing solutions couldn’t fill. In response, SciAps has developed a modern replacement to meet this critical need. Compact, powerful, and built with cutting-edge technology, the SciAps reveNIR analyzer ensures precision and portability for accurate analysis in the field.

“The launch of the reveNIR analyzer represents a significant leap forward for the mineral exploration community. We’ve designed this device to be lightweight, rugged, and technologically advanced, empowering geologists and field professionals to make faster, more accurate decisions right where it matters most—in the field. By combining trusted legacy with cutting-edge innovation, we’re filling a critical gap in the industry and setting a new standard for efficiency and performance in exploration tools.”

Key Features:

Reflectance Spectra Analysis: Operating within a spectral range of 350 to 2510 nm, the analyzer records reflectance spectra to predict mineral compositions. It includes a basic mineral spectral library of 50 essential exploration minerals and supports user-defined spectral additions.

Portability: Weighing under 4.5 lbs with the battery, the reveNIR is 2 lbs lighter and 50% smaller than the ASD Halo, making it ideal for use in challenging terrains, including mountainous areas and remote mines accessible only by helicopter or small plane.

Versatility: Suitable for reconnaissance, core logging, rock chip analysis, and expanded mapping areas, the analyzer allows users to assess outcrops, measure various positions, and evaluate the mineralogy of geological formations with ease.

On-Site Mineral Identification: Capable of detecting key minerals such as Epidote, Calcite, Chlorite, Kaolinite, Halloysite, Montmorillonite, Muscovite, Illite, Smectites, Dickite, Hematite, Goethite, Rectorite, and Rare Earth Oxides, the reveNIR is essential for pinpointing ore bodies and guiding drilling operations.

Rapid Decision-Making: With real-time mineral spectra analysis, the device eliminates lab delays, enabling geologists to adjust exploration strategies instantly.

The smarter E Europe: Bidirectional Charging Saves Billions

MUNICH & PFORZHEIM, Germany--BUSINESS WIRE--Electric cars equipped with bidirectional charging technology can store electricity and feed it back into the grid when needed. A new study by Transport & Environment (T&E) shows that this could save billions by optimizing the use of generation capacity, reducing curtailment, and lowering fuel consumption. Bidirectional charging (BiDi) could thus achieve a technological and economic breakthrough in Europe but it requires clear regulatory framework conditions. Without these, the potential will remain untapped. In response to these developments, Europe’s largest alliance of energy industry exhibitions, The smarter E Europe, is dedicating a special exhibit to highlight…
