The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Australia warmly invites you to its annual Australia Day celebrations on Sunday, 26th January 2025, at Australia's largest mosque. This event provides an opportunity for people to come together, united in their allegiance to Australia.

A formal ceremonial event will be held at all Ahmadiyya Muslim mosques across Australia. During these ceremonies, the Community will honor Australia by hoisting the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem. Community members and invited dignitaries will deliver short thanksgiving speeches, reflecting on the significance of being Australian.

The National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Australia, Imam. I.H. Kauser stated:

"We, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, always pray for the progress and development of our homeland, Australia. In keeping with our traditions, we will celebrate Australia Day at all mosques across the country. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our nation, government, and fellow citizens because our religion teaches us that love for one’s country of residence is a part of faith."

This day holds special significance for the Community. To commence the celebrations, Ahmadiyya Muslim mosques across the nation will offer prayers for the prosperity of Australia. Members of the Community will also actively participate in broader community celebrations throughout the day.

The Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Caliph, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has guided Community members in this regard:

"True loyalty requires a relationship built on sincerity and integrity… It is essential for a citizen of any country to establish a relationship of genuine loyalty and faithfulness to their nation. This applies equally, whether one is a born citizen or has gained citizenship later in life."

Opposition support for stronger gun laws in Tasmania welcomed

Statement attributable to Australian Gun Safety Alliance convenor and Alannah & Madeline Foundation advocacy advisor Stephen Bendle: The Foundation welcomes the Opposition's support for strong gun laws in Tasmania. The aim of any gun reforms is to make the community safer, and we are pleased to see the Opposition, the Greens and many Independents standing together on this. Not a single Tasmanian will be prevented from using or owning a firearm for which they have a legitimate need. However, reducing the number of guns in a community is clearly in the interests of public safety. Tasmanians saw the improvements in gun…
