Ahmadiyya Muslim Community WA Denounces Antisemitic Remarks by Sydney Nurses: “We Stand for Compassion, Not Hate”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: Friday, 14th Feb 2025

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Western Australia (WA) vehemently condemns the antisemitic remarks made by two Sydney nurses in a viral video. Their hateful comments not only violate the sanctity of human life but also fundamentally contradict the teachings.

Imam Syed Wadood Janud of Nasir Mosque, WA’s largest mosque located in Bibra Lake, stated:
“The comments made by these individuals are not only filled with hate but are factually contradictory to what Islam teaches about the afterlife. Their assumption that all Jews will go to hell is entirely against Islam's teachings. The Quran clearly states that Christians, Jews, Sabians, and others—whoever does good deeds—shall have no fear on the Day of Judgment [Chapter 2, Verse 62]. Islam teaches respect, compassion, and justice for all humanity, and such vile remarks have no place in our faith.”

Dr. Ata Ul Hadi, a Senior Resident Doctor at Armadale Health Service, expressed his disgust:
“It is beyond me to think that anyone, let alone healthcare professionals, could hold such insensitive ideas about human life. As a Muslim, I have a deep regard for the struggles, pains, and vulnerabilities of my patients. I strive every day to go above and beyond to ease their suffering. How anyone in the health sector could see their duty any differently is incomprehensible.”

Rabbani Bhugeloo, a Perth based Paramedic, shared his perspective:
“When we arrive at a crash site, every second counts. We put our heart and soul into giving our patients the best chance of survival. I don’t see colour, race, or religion—I see a fellow human being in need. These feelings of compassion and love are further strengthened by my faith, Islam. It was deeply hurtful to hear these nurses, who claim to follow the same faith, speak in such vile terms. That is not acceptable, and we refuse to be represented by such individuals.”

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community WA reiterates that Islam is a religion of peace, compassion, and respect for all humanity. The actions and words of these individuals do not represent the teachings of Islam or the values upheld by Australian Muslims. We stand firmly against all forms of hatred, bigotry, and discrimination, and we call for unity, understanding, and mutual respect in our diverse society.
